Hello, my name is Dave Garvey and this is my story.Like most people, at the start of the New Year I made a resolution to get back in shape, the way I was before I broke my leg in 1996.On January 13, 2005, I joined the club in order to do this.At this point of my life I weighed the most that I have ever weighed, 234 lbs (I weighed 165lbs before I broke my leg).I am husband to a wonderful wife and a father of three wonderful children.So with that, my family was the main motivation factor for losing weight.I want to grow old and see my children have grandchildren and being as heavy as I was, I was not going to be able to do that.I saw how my health was being affected by being overweight (high cholesterol and border line high blood pressure).However, like most people I tried various diets and failed.I believe that I succeeded this time because of one very important factor; I was ready to lose the weight.In my opinion, you can diet all you want, but until you believe it in your heart it will not happen.Now, you are probably wondering by now how I lost my weight and how much weight I have actually lost?I guess I will not keep you in suspense any longer.
Since January 13, I have been coming to the gym twice a day (except on Saturdays).Yes that is correct, twice a day.I would be in the gym when it opened at 5am and back at the gym around 7pm.I did a mixed program, set up by Dennis, of cardio and muscle toning.I did not diet, but I did change my eating habits.All I did for eating was to eat better.Like I said, DIETS DO NOT WORK!I had a goal of losing 60 lbs before June 16th which was only five months away.I am here to tell you that I reached my goal in five months.I lost 60 lbs in a little less than five months.Since June 16th, I have lost another 5 lbs.
